"The school buildings are not your dream.  They are the monument to your dream"

The people of Mamponteng Ghana had a vision for the education of their children past the age of 13, but no resources to make the vision a reality.

Mary Lynn was an elementary education teacher in the U.S. and Columbia, South America, before raising her family and traveling the world with her husband, Warren Staley, who ended his career as the CEO of Cargill.

Both of their hearts were moved as they heard of the possibilities born of hope. Together they funded and participated in the design and construction process of Phase I, the classroom and administration core of the high school. Phase II: four dormitories to house students that walk up to two hours daily to attend school; a dining hall complex where meals can be prepared and served, and housing for staff on the campus.

Mary Lynn said it most clearly to the people of the village of Mamponteng, in a speech she gave at the dedication ceremony for the school - "The school buildings are not your dream.  They are the monument to your dream."  And with that the dream continues…

The dream continues and so do the financial needs to realize it. Warren and Mary Lynn continue to raise awareness and the resources required for the next phase of the dream - which includes scholarships for students as well as a chapel, an assembly hall and two additional dormitories as well as staff housing.

Warren and Mary Lynn have realized the powerful effects of increasing support for a vision. They are hoping to enlist the contribution of an ever-expanding circle of individuals and organizations that share their belief; a belief in the power of education to affect the future of nations by investing in the lives of individuals.
